Homeopathy has been part of my work for more than 35 years.
I use it as an individualised form of treatment that pays attention not only to the presenting symptom, but to the wider pattern of the person: physical symptoms, sensitivities, emotional responses, history, constitution and the way difficulty is being experienced now.
Symptoms matter, but I do not assume in advance what they mean.
The work begins with careful observation and the question:
What most requires attention now?
How I Work Homeopathically
I do not begin by trying to match a remedy to a diagnosis.
I listen for the pattern.
What is most characteristic?
What is most organising?
What has changed?
What seems to belong to the person as a whole, and what may simply be part of the current situation?
The aim is to find the remedy, potency and timing that most closely fit what is actually present.
Sometimes the most important thing is not to prescribe immediately, but to listen and observe a little longer.
Individualisation
Two people with the same diagnosis may need entirely different remedies.
One person may be cold, restless and anxious.
Another may be exhausted, withdrawn and unusually sensitive.
Another may have very few symptoms but one striking change that gives the case its direction.
Homeopathic prescribing is concerned with recognising what is particular about the person and their experience, rather than treating only the disease name.
Acute and Longer-Term Work
Homeopathy may be used in acute situations, with longer-standing patterns, or as part of a wider therapeutic process.
Sometimes the picture is clear and a remedy can be prescribed relatively simply.
At other times the case needs more careful observation, particularly where symptoms are long-standing, complex or difficult to interpret.
The pace of prescribing depends on the person, the situation and what is actually changing.
Remedies
Homeopathic remedies are prepared from substances drawn from the natural world and other sources.
The choice of remedy is based on similarity between the known homeopathic remedy picture and the individual pattern presenting in the consultation.
I may work with remedies from plant, mineral and animal sources, as well as sarcodes, nosodes, imponderables and other homeopathic preparations, depending on the case.
No remedy is chosen simply because of a diagnosis.
What I Pay Attention To
Depending on the person and what has brought them, I may pay attention to:
- physical symptoms and what makes them better or worse
- changes in energy, sleep, appetite or temperature
- emotional and mental experience
- fears, sensitivities and reactions
- recurring themes, words or images
- significant life events
- family and inherited patterns where these are relevant
- the way symptoms move, change or remain fixed
- what seems particularly characteristic or unusual
The aim is not to collect information for its own sake.
It is to understand the case clearly enough to recognise what matters and what, if anything, needs a response.
Follow-Up
After a remedy, we pay attention to what changes and what does not.
Changes may be noticed in symptoms, energy, sleep, mood, resilience, behaviour, perception or simply in how you experience yourself and your life.
Not every change necessarily means that the remedy caused it, and not every change requires another prescription.
Sometimes the most important decision is not to repeat or change a remedy too soon.
Observation, timing and restraint are part of my Homeopathic practice.
Homeopathy Within My Wider Practice
Homeopathy may be used on its own or alongside Visual Somatic Therapy and other aspects of my therapeutic work.
I do not begin with the assumption that Homeopathy is necessarily what you need simply because you have come to see a Homeopath.
The starting point is:
What most requires attention now?
Then:
What can actually be met now?
And from there:
What kind of intervention, if any, may be useful?
Sometimes that may be a Homeopathic remedy.
Sometimes something else requires attention first.
And sometimes the appropriate response is to wait.

Remedies and Ordering
If I recommend a Homeopathic remedy, I will provide:
- the name of the remedy
- the potency
- clear instructions on how to take it
- details of a reputable Homeopathic pharmacy where it can be purchased
Remedies are purchased separately by the client and are not included in the consultation fee.
In most cases, remedies can be ordered directly from the pharmacy and posted to you.
Please follow the dosing instructions we have agreed. If you are unsure whether to repeat or change a remedy, contact me before doing so.
Professional Registration
I am a Registered Homeopath (RSHom) with the Society of Homeopaths in the UK.
My work is complementary and does not replace medical diagnosis, prescribed medication, emergency care or other healthcare where these are needed.
